Salsa del Rio is the Latin Jazz Ensemble at Texas State University. Created in the Fall of 1995, this ensemble is dedicated to the study of performance of music from Latin America such as Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico. Some of the popular styles we study include Mambo, Son-Montuno, Cha Cha Cha, Bolero, Merengue, Guaguanco, and many others. As a result, we have covered such popular artists as Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Ray Barreto, Oscar De Leon, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Gloria Estefan, Spanish Harlem Orquestra, Marc Anthony, Orquestra de la Luz, Eddie Palmieri, and Poncho Sanchez to name a few. Salsa del Rio has performed internationally at the Carnival de Nice in Nice, France, the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, Huataculo, Mexico and Mexico City. Nationally, the group has been invited twice to compete at the prestigious Notre Dame Collegiate Jazz Festival and in the Spring of 2004, they received a record setting 57 awards for their performance. The "Premios A La Musica Latina" awards ceremony is held in San Antonio TX, and in 2005 and 2006 Salsa del Rio was honored by being nominated and winning the "Best Salsa/Merengue Group" award. The group also performs regularly at high schools around the State of Texas as well as in the San Marcos, Austin, and San Antonio areas.
The Austin Wedding Band features a 3 or 4 piece combo specializing in weddings and corporate parties. A blend of oldies, rock, motown & disco which is usually complimented with the Austin Wedding Jookbox Master DJ to make all the announcements and provide music during dinner and band breaks. Can be booked with the package or separately.
SONIC STORM is a dynamic arena rock band based in the Eugene area. The band consists of six accomplished musicians, each with experience spanning four decades. Sonic Storm is a "Rock Act" that performs music from , Journey, Boston, Cheap Trick, REO Speedwagon, Styx and many other "Arena Rock" bands from the 80's
The BLUESBERRY JAM BAND came together at a time of “open mics and jam sessions” in Jackson, Tennessee. This formation started during September 2004 and developed into a mixture of 5 guys all over 50 years of age with a total of approximately 138 years total experience with a range of 3 to 40 years experience and within a radius of 25 miles of Jackson, Tn. where many of legends of the blues came from and played at including such bluesmen that called Jackson and Brownsville, Tn. their home. A couple of the most experienced have played with Denise LaSalle crossing the USA and overseas tours. The others have worked extensively with many well known local groups across the West Tennessee areas. The BLUESBERRY JAM BAND began with an interest in charitable events, bike nites, and following the “chittlin circuit” of performers from years ago. The music is built upon the delta blues style with a mixture of some of the 60’s & 70’s for the die hard baby boomers. The styles and performances soon won over different cultures and age generations. Today, the BLUESBERRY JAM BAND concentrates on having fun, working festivals, doing as many charitable events as possible and staying out on the “chittlin circuit” from time to time.
