The band was founded by Rene Flores and Tina Flores Oglesbee. Individually, every member of Tina y Los Downboys has been involved in music for most of their lives;however, it wasn't until May of 2007 that they decided to bring their talents together to form the group. Because each of the members' individual experiences, they were each able to bring something different to Tina y Los Downboys. Music has been such a major role in the lives of all the band members and this becomes apparent in the music. They each have such a passion for music that it radiates from the speakers each and every time they play. Their influences are their families. Tina, Rene, and Adam's fathers were part of the group Los Flores. Their fathers played music their whole lives and jammed in the tri-state area from the sixties to the early eighties. Thankfully, this greatly influenced their children to play Tejano/TexMex Music....
