About Us:

JCJ Band was formed in the beginning of 1990 by Camilo Toledo, bass player and arranger. The main objective was to form a professional yet totally unique band. Several musicians from a wide variety of backgrounds were hired, creating an eclectic flavor and evolving sound that can only be distinguished as its own. On April 18th 1990, JCJ Band played for the fist time at New York, New York, the best Latin club at the time. By July of 1990, the band was asked to perform at D.C.'s annual 'Latino Festival'; the largest Hispanic festival of Washington D.C. This performance was marked as the "official Debut" of the band; attracting the attention of local Hispanic media and pleasing an audience of 20,000 gathered around the main stage. JCJ band has played from 1990 until the present date at 90% of the Hispanic clubs in Southern Maryland, Washington D.C. and Northern Virginia; providing night after night some of the best entertainment found in the Washington area. Demonstrating at every performance, that the concept and the ability to play several styles of music is the only way to please, not only a Hispanic audience that is formed by a wide variety of nationalities, but an Anglo American audience as well. For years, JCJ Band's popularity has never declined; considered to be "the icing on the cake" when hired by local promoters as the 'opening band" for international Stars. Now, however, thanks to the increasing popularity, JCJ Band is becoming the main attraction. New York, Philadelphia, New Jersey and Boston are among the first cities outside Wash. D.C. to have host JCJ with open arms and dancing toes! The concept kept and maintained by Camilo Toledo with his unique and a truly legitimate musical leadership 'several styles of music, uncompromised professionalism, up-to-date song repertoire, original songs, original arrangements, excellent musicianship and superb singers providing an exciting and explosive choreography- is in fact the key for the band's success. The best Hispanic and most versatile band is what Washingtonians and the world know as "JCJ Band".
