Steve Pavey, founder of The Rhythm,got his start in the music business in 1970 with the soft pop band The Images. He went on to play on sessions for The Buoys,Raspberries,Looking Glass,Larry Groce,Climax, Rupert Holmes and Jimmy Griffin of Bread. The Rhythm is a Wide Variety band, playing every thing from '50s to contemporary music of today. We play Jazzy pop, do wop, rock, funk, soul and R&B. The musicians in our group have years of experience, and we know what it takes to get people on the dance floor and keep them there. Flexible rates to fit most budgets.
If you closed your eyes, you'd swear it was Neil Diamond himself belting out his '60's hit "Sweet Caroline" or Willie Nelson duetting with Waylon Jennings the country classic, "Good-Hearted Woman". Occasionally using the voices of Johnny Cash, Tom Jones, Willie Nelson, Marty Robbins, Roger Miller, Gordon Lightfoot, David Peel totally captivates his audiences with a huge variety of music styles and crowd-pleasing favorites. Particularly fun is a rendition of the Mickey Mouse Club "theme-song" featuring some of these same voices as young "Mouseketeers"! His ability to also weave in his own music and vocal styles provides a most-enjoyable show. Singer/guitarist David Peel is the consummate one-man band! Utilizing a state-of the-art vocal harmonizer, he masterfully weaves beautiful 2-part background harmonies throughout hundreds of classic tunes. A foot-actuated percussion "bass-pedal" provides plenty of driving punch as well. A Bose L-1 PA system provides "un-obtrusive" sound re-enforcement to fill most rooms. For many years, David has delighted audiences from coast to coast and overseas with a unique gift of presenting the perfect combination of music for a wide variety of special events, house concerts, corporate gatherings, fund-raisers, etc. Possessing a rich voice (which he controls admirably), David combines pop, country, and folk styles to entertain audiences everywhere.
Doctor Robert is a new-generation of Beatles Tribute Bands. Dressed in “Ed Sulllivan”-style suits (and a black mod-style dress), Casey Falter, Karen Janssen, Kevin Reinert and Ben Wright bring great enthusiasm and a fresh sound to the classic music and genius of the Beatles. With a current repertoire of over 80 songs chosen from the entire Beatles' catalog, we spice it up for our audiences by changing the song list for each performance with customized sets for dancing or listening. While we have added a few twists and turns to some of the numbers, listeners have been quick to point out how much respect Doctor Robert brings to the music of The Beatles, as well as how infectious the energy is during our performances! The Beatles wrote possibly the most important collection of music of any band in the history of rock and roll. With over 200 songs written and recorded, their extensive, far-reaching influence is undeniable. The members of Doctor Robert enjoy everything from jazz to bluegrass to funk to heavy metal, and we all bring this diverse taste as well as varied musical experience to a band brought together by the common ground of Beatles’ music. It has been inspiring to watch people of all ages and backgrounds at our shows, singing and dancing to familiar songs they love.
