We are a group of award-winning jazz musicians that play all styles of Jazz: from Swing to Bop, Latin to Contemporary, Funk and even some Jazzed-up pop tunes. PJP is built around a dynamic rhythm section of piano, bass and drums to which we add instrumentation as needed. Available instruments include saxophone, trumpet, trombone, vocals(male and female), guitar, flute and vibraphone. The resulting sound ranges from intimate to exciting. For smaller venues and budgets we also offer various duo and drumless trio formats. Peneplain Jazz is a member in good standing with the Denver/Boulder Better Business Bureau and can be counted on to provide the highest standards in both it’s music and professionalism. Singer/songwriter Jason Vigil has quite the buzz going in his hometown of Denver since the release of his debut album, Heart Gone Sober. While most independent artists are still struggling to find their feet months after their debut release; Jason Vigil not only has solid footing, but he is off to a running start. Vigil debuted his release to a sold out CD Release party at The Walnut Room in Denver in November, and his intense live performances are opening eyes on both a local and national level. With a fall college tour in the works, as a response to a successful radio campaign that enjoyed top 20 adds along the East coast; Jason is poised to increase his fan base at a swift rate. Like a story understood by all, Heart Gone Sober delves deep into the life of a bleeding heart. Vigil's unique songs that blend alternative, pop, and rock reflect and reveal that, with time, a person can sober up from substances, relationships or even life itself, and find direction. Steve Pavey, founder of The Rhythm,got his start in the music business in 1970 with the soft pop band The Images. He went on to play on sessions for The Buoys,Raspberries,Looking Glass,Larry Groce,Climax, Rupert Holmes and Jimmy Griffin of Bread. The Rhythm is a Wide Variety band, playing every thing from '50s to contemporary music of today. We play Jazzy pop, do wop, rock, funk, soul and R&B. The musicians in our group have years of experience, and we know what it takes to get people on the dance floor and keep them there. Flexible rates to fit most budgets.
