The Steve Somers Band featuring vocalist Valerie Barrymore performs a variety of high energy dance music. R & B, Funk, Rock, Blues, Jazz and Motown styles are areas they specialize in. Valerie is from Detroit and has been influenced by gospel music as well as Parliament, Prince and Janet Jackson. Steve was raised in the San Francisco bay area and has a Masters degree in music from Eastern Michigan University. Steve's influences on guitar include B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix, George Benson and Andres Segovia. The band has performed at numerous wedding receptions and private parties throughout Michigan and Ohio. Valerie puts on a great show and the band is always professional and entertaining. (Special Motown and Tina Turner Shows are now available by request)
