THE INNER ROOTS The heat is on, the buzz is out!! Ryddim Kings Band is back on the scene, with a new name (THE INNER ROOTS) bringing pure fire to the stage with their ever unique style of reggae music. A true expression of reggaes versatility, their live performances take you on a journey of roots and culture, lovers rock, dance hall and vintage classics that is rooted in Jamaica and spanning the world. A blend of spiritual vibes and hardcore truth mixed with showmanship. Over the years Inner Roots a.k.a. Ryddim Kings has been turning out audiences from Jamaica to the rest of the Caribbean, Africa, USA, Europe, Asia, and the Mediterranean. Their versatile and explosive stage presence always leaves the crowd wanting more. This band always delivers and never falls short on a performance. Listeners can feel the positive side of the music in their hearts, mind and soul. The musicians appreciation for the classic sounds of Jamaica, along with their knowledge of the broader techniques used in World Beat music has made for a distinct approach to their sound and a much needed fresh face to the music as a whole. It began in 1985 Spanish Town, Jamaica. Brothers Owen and Howard Dalhouse along with their musically incline friends Phillip “Bully” Williams, Lloyd “Obeah” Denton, Paul “Doc Paul” Hamilton and Wayne “Reggae Fox” Denny formed the Ryddim Kings. It was the perfect union of musical genius and creative talent. Tamlins, Mutabaruka, Richie Spice, Buju Banton, Sean Paul, Toots, Dean Frasier, The Meditations, Andrew Tosh and many others. The Ryddim Kings (now Inner Roots) quickly became the most recognized leading backing band on the island of Jamaica. Performing on nearly every major show and premier music event, and they have backed most of Jamaica’s stellar performers such as: Gregory Isaacs, Cocoa Tea, Yellow Man, Beres Hammond, Lovindeer, Admiral Bailey, Pinchers, Shabba Ranks, Tiger, Beanie Man, Bounty Killer, Luciano, Junior Tucker, Glen Washington, Carlene Davis, Hopeton Lewis, Chevelle Franklin, Rita Marley, Diana King, Patra, Super Cat, Riche Stevens, Capleton, Sizzla, Elephant Man, Chuck Fender, This award winning band received their crowning glory in 1986 with acclaim from the Rockers 5th Annual Awards, and in 1987 they won the Martins’ International Reggae Music Award for best backing and show band, they went on to win the infamous Tamika Awards three consecutive years. The band was recognized for outstanding meritorious contribution to the development of Jamaica’s music in 1991 by Rockers Magazine and in that same year they also received the Martins’ International Reggae Music Award for outstanding contribution to Reggae Music, making the Ryddim Kings (now the Inner Roots) an international success. The Inner Roots, with some new members, under the management of Dalhouse Productions and Ryddim Kings Records, in 2003, expanded to the Americas and America started feeling their presence. They are regarded as the hottest and most sought after show, dance, and backing (live and recording) band in the States. Their sound can be heard at the best eateries throughout New York State, private parties, clubs, stage shows, festivals and cultural events. The Inner Roots has revived the live band sound in the Metro area and has now expanded their listener ship to the suburbs. In the era of this great band, there’s none to compare from coast to coast. Of course, any well rounded musicologist knows that there’s nothing…nothing like Inner Roots. Along with Owen “Mr. Music” Dalhouse (Drums) Inner Roots is, Howard “Stretch” Dalhouse (Guitar), Clinton “Bubbles” Rowe (Bass), Laurence Lewis (Keyboards), Peter Tomlinson (Keyboards), Dennis “Shango Trexx” Llewellyn (Vocal) and Virginia Henriques (Vocal). New, innovative, crowd pleasing sound, along with superior music and entertainment are all synonymous with Inner Roots. The “Inner Roots a force to recon with”.
