Even today, 90 percent of our business is still Weddings. We're proud of that and we love being able to play a part in that most singular of Special Occasions. Please take a moment to learn about the musicians in Band of Gold: Neil Haverstick - Accoustic and Electric Guitars, vocals: As a GUITARIST, the DENVER POST called him 'one of the most sought after session players in town.' Haverstick has performed zillions of gigs, such as playing and recording with the Colorado Symphony, including appearances with Judy Collins, Diahann Carroll, Tommy Tune, Ferrante and Teicher, and Bill Conti. He has also played in orchestras backing such stars as Bob Hope, Dinah Shore, Charley Pride, and others. With his own bands, he has opened shows for B.B. King, Steve Miller, King Sunny Ade, and the Nields, and has also backed up blues greats Jim Schwall and Joe Houston. As a freelance guitarist he has played blues, jazz, classical, country, flamenco, and folk, as well as shows (Man of La Mancha, Grease, Always Patsy Cline and A Dream Play at the Cleveland Playhouse) and many private functions. He has also appeared on numerous CD projects by Denver artists, including Clay Kirkland and Mary Stribling. Haverstick won GUITAR PLAYER magazine's 1992 Ultimate Guitar Competition. He also won the 1996 Arts Innovation Award in Denver and the 1999 Composition Fellowship from the Colorado Council of the Arts. Djordje Vasovic - Keyboards, Saxophones & Vocals: Born in Serbia, Europe. Formal musical training completed in Belgrade (Degree in Performing Arts and Piano Performance). Started performing with Youth Choirs at age 10. His professional musical career started in 1985 and includes regular live performances, extensive experience as a studio session musician, arranger and composer. His European musical career includes notable musical collaborations with several East-European and African artists & various musical projects, and it resulted in 14 full length album releases (both as a sideman and with his own groups). Upon his relocating to the USA in mid 90s, Djordje continued his musical career with recording sessions and extensive performing schedule throughout the US and Canada. Collaborations with several groups resulted in 6 album releases in the US. His continuing education includes music studies with Dick Grove's music programs, and private instruction in sax performance. A few selected performances include: BeoRock music Festival 1989 (Serbia), Counter-Eurovision Annual European Music Festival 1990, Undercurrents International Music Festivals 1997 and 1998 (Cleveland, Ohio), NXNE International Music Festival 1997 (Toronto, Canada), several performances on Benefit Concerts for Make-a-Wish Foundation 8th Annual Bob Marley Festival Tour 1998. Member of Colorado Music Association and Association of Music Artists of Serbia (Awarded with Diploma for Contribution in Development of Musical Creativity in the field of Jazz and Popular Music in 1989). Djordje's musical interests cover various musical styles and traditions including: Classical, Jazz, Blues, Funk, Pop, Rock, R&B; East European traditional folk music, Latino, African, Caribbean music and more. Vivien Lee - Vocals, keyboards and guitars: San Diego's KGB FM radio held an annual city wide song competition. Vivien and her Duo partner won a position on 'HOMEGROWN 5' with PRETTY SENORITA (one of 12 songs out of approximately 300 entries). The same song was placed on the 'HOMEGROWN GREATEST HITS' album, and 'HOMEGROWN 6' chose Vivien's THIS BOULEVARD the year after. There were several opportunities to meet the media with radio airplay, album release parties and a prime time local television spot. During this time a 24 track recording studio developed around the Duo. Many of Vivien's original songs were recorded at this studio with remarkably talented musicians who have become Internationally famous on their own. Tuesday Productions use of four Vivien Lee melodies for various clients heard on radio, television and in Supermarkets nationwide. Co-written song with Peter Skrabak: number one hit single in Mexico and other Spanish language countries 1992. Original title: 'In Time for Love' released as 'No Podros' Artist: 'Christian' Co-written song with John Archer of 'Checkfield': 'Holiday/Of Dreams' placed on television series 2002 in Japan. Dale Josef - bass, guitar, keyboards and vocals: Over twenty years professional experience in the Music Business. Reads music. Plays well by ear. Has an excellent working knowledge of music theory; key signatures, scales, chords, modes, etc. Excellent feel for rhythm and grooving with the drummer. Proficient in most styles. Some facts about Dale: Began formal music training at age 6. Toured southwest United States with the Union Blues Band. Played at Bo Diddley's Mud Studios in Los Lunas New Mexico; Former member of the rock-comedy improv group 'The Clams'; Founded Denver's hottest reggae group 'Rockers'; played a two year stint with Denver Blues Legend, Maynard Mills; Joined Band of Gold in 1999; Dale has played literally thousands of club and private dates around the country. Dale's technique, fueled by years of performance and recording experience, is further enhanced by studying with master guitarist Steve Shurack, recognized as among the best solo guitar instrumentalists in the world. Depending on the venue and gathering type, Dale will interact with audience members, including live audience participation. Given enough advance notice, Dale will learn and perform your favorite song to further enhance your event. Bill Small - drums, percussion, vocals: A.A. Professional Music, Berklee College of Music - Born in New Haven,CT; Performed with Steve Morse, Walter Bishop and numerous groups in all styles of music, live and in studio, all over the USA. He has been developing his production skills with projects in Colorado and NYC, as well as playing/producing/recording drum loops for R&B, rock, Latin and funk tracks.
