Brent Maris picked up a guitar for the first time seven years ago and has been playing and writing music ever since. Through the years, Brent and his band The BarStool Fools, have become one of the most requested acts in the East Texas and Oklahoma areas. To this date Brent has written over one hundred songs for himself and other performers. He has also written and performed radio jingles and sang background vocals for various artists. He has opened for many performers including Merle Haggard, Gary Stewart and Neil McCoy. Brent's musical influences are evident in his shows. From the traditional sounding 'Bottle Over Me' to the southern rockin' 'Southern Man'. Brent had the opportunity to record his debut cd, Another Lonely Fool, at Emerald Studios in Nashville. The cd was produced by Nashville studio drummer and producer Paul Leim. Brent is currently promoting this cd on the Texas circuit.
