Dan Possumato
Dan has spent lots of time in the west of Ireland, which is the source for many of the tunes he plays in the old "push and draw" style. While the one-row melodeon has all but been replaced by the two-row button accordion in Irish music, Dan shows us that ten buttons can still produce a mighty sound. His newly-released CD, "Land of Sunshine," has a great feel of being back in time, listening to the locals playing in the pub or around the kitchen table. Often joining him on stage are some first-rate Irish musicians from places such as Clare, Galway, Dublin, and London. His CD has been played on national and local radio stations all over Ireland, and it has received good reviews from all who have heard it. When he performs for live audiences, he knows how to draw them in so that it becomes a musical experience, not just a musical recital.
