Chris LaRose is a solo artist who plays guitar and harmonica. He focuses primarily in Blues, 50's Rock, and American Roots music, but also has an album of original work scheduled for release in September 2012. He has played around the country, from Pennsylvania as far west as Montana. Chris has even performed with Grammy Award winner Joanne Shenandoah and has been invited to perform again with her in Germany in the fall of 2012.
The Agency is a Scranton cover band playing favorites from the past few decades including pop, rock, country and other genres. They play bars, clubs, private parties and weddings. Sound Barrier Experience, also known as "SBE" are a Philadelphia based alternative Urban/R&B band dedicated to bringing quality music that’s listenable to all ages. Over several projects they have experimented with replacing sampling with live band instrumentation, and introducing rock elements into hip hop, and seem to have finally found the perfect blend. Inspired by the "hip-hop band" concept pioneered by Stetsasonic and most notably The Roots, SBE has garnered critical acclaim and gradually influenced by hip hop and R&B acts. The Sound Barrier Experience were formed in November '09 but took until 2012 to self-release a debut, called Realize Ur Dream. The idea to formulate the band originated from Marlin "Diapolis" Barrier (Executive Producer) and Greg James (Drums) while working together in a private studio. Greg comprised available bandmates and Marlin added talent which included Jay Griff (MC vocals), Thorobred (MC vocals), Dakota Black (MC vocals) and later Mel Alston Jr. (Vocalist). This debut album is already receiving praise for being played as a live band, instead of relying on sampling, and is widely being considered an excellent album. The album features 2x Grammy Nominated artist, Melanie Rutherford also known for her works with James "J-Dilla" Yancey, Black Milk, Royce Da 5'9'', KEM, Boyz II Men, and Slum Village. We were established in 2009 after Danny and Poppa Vin departed from a classic rock band to pursue a more original direction. Dennis James, a life-long friend and former band-mate of Vin’s, was recruited into the early stages of the project. After deciding to take on a serious role as a band, they drafted Vin’s son, Vinnie, to play bass guitar and formed the Elwood James Band. Since forming the group, EJB has performed over 30 shows local to the Philadelphia area and has played multiple fund raising events including the 2010 Haiti earthquake relief – Musicians Actively Supporting Haiti and for Breast Cancer Awareness’ 2011 Walk for the Cure. We have progressed from a blues driven quartet to bridging the gap between genres like Alternative, Country, and Hard Rock. We have been told our sound is similar to that of the Black Crowes, Blues Traveler, and Widespread Panic, and some would argue they hear a Grateful Dead influence as well. The truth is we have been influenced by the musical direction of many past decades, from the 60’s to the present, representing the evolution of live music as best we can. Nu Image Vibes is one of the most compact and versatile band in this modern age giving you hits and originals from all different genres of music. We play for any kind of Occasion from Weddings, Private parties, Shows etc. Nu Image Vibes is all about entertaining and having a good time and we are pleased to bring to you the enjoyable rhythm of our creations. This summer we will be releasing our first album ever, comprising of a number of songs for labor day. We have been working on perfecting our music for the past ten years putting the undying talent of the members to the ultimate test of patience, discipline and corporation. With the continuous coming up of bands all over the USA we are always in constant never ending competition with the up coming bands. Besides the three piece band there is also a five piece band side to the Nu Image Vibes, we also offer dj services and the band has a top of the line powerful sound system consisting of eight bass, four tops, four stage monitors, 32 channel mixer,guitar and bass amp, seven power amps along with cables, snakes etc. most of the system is carvin.
