With over 30 years experience, this husband and wife team perform an assortment of songs (keyboards and vocal). Offered is music from the fabulous 50's, and 60's big band era, (Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Glen Miller, Duke Ellington) to contemporary country like Alan Jackson to standard western of Pasty Cline. Along with an ample supply of beach music, light popular and combined with high tech wizardry of electronics and computer assisted keyboards, "The Just Us Duo" may have that sound you are looking for. The Just Us Duo" husband and wife team comprises of Walt Tenay on keyboards and vocals, and Joyce with vocal and percussion. Walt has played professionally for over 40 years, starting on guitar in his early years, and playing with local groups in Connecticut. Walt also performed in four bands overseas while stationed in Morocco. Joyce Tenay, the other half of our Just Us Duo, has been active in music for many years, starting on guitar in the early years. After a sabbatical for a real job and family for about 20 years, Joyce is now back with Walt. Joyce provides the well-rounded sounds we offer on our duets with perfect harmony and great solo vocals of the big band sounds. How Do They Do That ; All the music you hear at our performances is being played live. We do not use CD, tapes, or pre-recorded music. Vocals and our unique instrument sounds are played live and produced on a high tech keyboard that compiles all parts with some computer assistance to produce the Just Us Duo unique sound during our performances. We hope you like what you hear. We offer a full range of live music and styles.
Due East has grown into one of the top classic rock cover bands in the Crystal Coast area of N.C. Our seasoned players bring a tasty mix of music, a feast for your ears. We don't play too loud and our balance of sound is critical to us. We strive to sound good as "a band" and take every step to insure things like feedback don't spoil the event. We don't drink onstage and we run through our list quite quickly, yet will stop to acknowledge the crowd and make them feel welcome. We love to play music and it shows. We do this for ourselves as well as the fans. Music is our lives. It's what we do and who we are. We have yet to travel beyond a 100 mile radius of New Bern. With gas at a premium price, we expect to get bookings from local clubs mostly and any distant gigs we play will need to fetch the higher side of our price range. We have our own P.A. & Lights and an enclosed trailer to haul it with. We can usually be setup and ready to play in under an hour.
