"Looks like it's time for something new" proclaims one of the opening lines in 7 Point 9's song, Before You Know. And "something new" is what music lovers will find with this up and coming band. Originally started as a cover band, playing their favorites such as Green Day, The Offspring, Rancid, and Goldfinger, 7 Point 9 has evolved into a group worth checking out: An innovative songwriting group playing melodic, high energy pop-punk, with relatable, true to heart lyrics and an unmistakable beat. Launched in 1995, 7 Point 9 was formed by Adam Instefjord (guitar) and Dave Vazzano (drums) in Crystal Lake, a northwest suburb of Chicago, IL. Today, 7 Point 9 has moved to Los Angeles to continue their musical careers and hope to live their dream playing music for years to come.
Of the multitudes of tribute bands that perform in clubs, casinos, weddings, corporate and private events, there are very few that truly provide a full package of entertainment. “80 Degrees” is one of the few bands in the country that offers more than just a band playing music. The “80 Degrees” band has made it a point to perform all the styles of music in the show from R&B/Pop artists such as Prince, Michael Jackson and Madonna to the New Wave sounds of groups such as Depeche Mode and Oingo Biongo to Heavy Metal big hair bands like Guns and Roses and Bon Jovi. In most cases a band will have only one lead singer/front person. In addition to capturing all the styles of music from this era, the members of the band all sing, dance and perform which adds even more versatility and variety to the show. The “80 Degrees” band members also provide characterizations or likeness of the actual artists, being amazing impersonators in their own right for prestigious events and celebrity parties. With most bands you get just the music, which of course is the most important! However, with “80 Degrees”, it has been our vision to bring another dynamic to the table that really helps the audience recapture and relive the incredible 80's era. We do this with some jokes and comedy as well as trivia and games to have the audience actually interact with the band. If you ask what the one thing is that really sets us apart from other bands, the answer would be our high energy level on stage with constant movement and interaction with the audience.
