As they blend musical formats and rhythms of the Afro-Cuban and Puerto Rican roots, this blending enables them to play the hot sound of rumbas, mambos, boleros as well as merengues. Comborican always adds fresh elements and new perspectives musically which provide a distinctness all their own.

Members of Dario Y Su Comborican bring distinctive talents from the music traditions of their homelands which include Puerto Rico, Cuba, Mexico and the United States. Blending together the expertise of the Afro-Caribbean traditions of Puerto Rico, the percussion and improvisation of Cuba, the roots of jazz from the U.S. provide an end product that is Caribbean but yet an innovative and unique styling.

The Comborican band is comprised of 2 vocalist, 2 trumpets, trombone, sax, piano, bass, conga, bongo and timbale. This instrumental makeup allows for a wide range of sound and provides the depth to perform a plethora of styles in the authentic fashion they were meant to be played.

About Us:

Lee Edwards plays original, acoustic music that makes you feel…and think. Lee’s music combines folk, rock, blues and country to create a blend that’s melodic, driving, Southern, fun, and heartfelt. His original, award-winning songs range from tender and intimate to outrageous. Lee was born in Milwaukee and grew up outside of Dallas. Watching his small hometown grow into a large, paved, generic suburb helped forge his love for nature and for unique, personal expression. He has lived most of his adult life in Austin. He completed a philosophy degree at the University of Texas, then a Ph.D. in psychology at the University of Maryland. He now draws on both backgrounds to create music for both heart and mind. Lee started out in the house band of a rural Texas steakhouse at age 18, then played around the Washington D.C. area in an acoustic trio. Later he graduated to Austin rock bands. Now Lee, on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, is often joined by his darlin’, Claudia Voyles, on electric bass and sultry vocals. Shows are fun, funny, touching and thought-provoking. Lee draws the audience into being part of the music, and they respond by singing along. It's music from the heart, and it’s good for the soul.
