Biography
Fusing the sounds of R&B, Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Gospel into one soulful experience, The Chapter's Return of Real Soul Music is being raved about worldwide.
The Chapter consists of six talented vocalists and musicians with diverse and extensive musical backgrounds.
The six members: Adrian 'Ace-Man' Morris, Patricia Whitfield, Slater Thorpe, Darius 'Doc D' Baker, Michael Ferguson, and Taurus Lovely, met each other in Tallahassee, Florida while attending Florida A&M University and performing in the live soul musical cabaret entitled 'The Phat Cat Live!'
After many years of performing in the Phat Cat Live Soul Music Cabaret and various contributions to the 'Make It Phat Baby' album by The Phat Cat Players, these six artists; Adrian, Patricia, Slater, Darius, Mike and Taurus, would form a bond sealed together with their love for music that eventually led to the birth of The Chapter!
Since their immaculate conception in the summer of 2001 until now, The Chapter has made numerous appearances. From being the featured guest at the official after party for the 2003 Willie Gary Football Classic, to a major collaboration with Music Choice, Comcast, and Florida A&M University, to present Kuumba Fest 2004, The Chapter has proven time and time again, show after show, that they are prepared to make their mark in music history.
The Chapter also became the only unsigned act, since Dwele, to grace Music Choice airwaves receiving over 5000+ national screen advertisements, on-screen content, and online features.
With the release of their self-titled debut album 'The Chapter', comes the long awaited return of real soul music. From the soulful sounds of 'Better Days' and 'Time', to the show stopping love song of the year 'Can't Nobody', to the funk of the 'Derrty Jazz', this album and The Chapter will be around for many years to come.
