About US
About Us:

Jody "Cody" Immell spent eleven years playin the night-clubs and hotel bars of Texas. She began singing in a piano/vocal duo in 1978, performing a wide variety of music, from jazz standards to top 40 hits. Her powerful vocals show her early influences: Janis Joplin, Billy Holiday, and Etta James. Soon she was fronting top 40 bands...Moonstone, The Keepers, LiveWire, Spitfire, playing venues from Corpus Christi, Texas to Omaha, Nebraska and all points in between! After moving to the Midwest in early 1991, she continued honing her craft with top 40 bands Undercover and The Sundogs, before returning to her roots and forming a duo with guitarist Roger Mead. They played together for 4 years and then Jody decided to take a hiatus to write and record the songs burning a hole in her soul. Today she has re-united with Paul Klemme, forumer Moonstone band-mate, to create a tapestry of music incorporating their varied musical tastes and talents. Paul Klemme came to Austin in 1977 after escaping the confines of Topeka, Kansas, where one of his early influences, the band Kansas got its start. He, his brother, and Jody formed the band "Honey River" which, with a few personnel changes, became "Moonstone". Paul and Jody performed together for three years, after which time they amicably went their seperate ways. Paul went on the road with "Austin's Own Street People" in 1980 and '81, a band which performed onstage with such national acts as Carl Carlton and Little Joe y La Familia, and traveled the eastern seaboard with "Rush Hour" in 1982. Paul moved back to Austin in 1983, and quickly became reinvolved in the local music scene. He formed another band, "Low Profile", which transformed into "Pleaser" in 1984. In 1986 Paul began performing with Hilary Kaufmann, and in 1988 he and Jody reunited, helping to form the band "Tricky Business", which opened for Badfinger in 1988. In 1990 Paul joined the band Haywire, with which he still performs today. He also performs with The Austin Rockafellas and Band of Gold. His influences include Billy Joel, Elton John, Chuck Leavell, Chick Corea, Leon Russell, and other great pianists, as well as groups from ABBA to ZZ Top. When Paul learned that Jody moved back to Austin, he quickly decided that he wanted to reunite once more, this time for good, and together they formed the duo "Moonshards" (or "Zen Bubbas", depending on the audience). Their combined musical experience and shared musical tastes ensure an entertainment experience you'll treasure.
