What began in the spring of 2005 as a "rehearsal jazz ensemble," soon morphed into a tight-swinging, high energy, fun-loving big band, playing the gamut of that genre's literature, ranging from early Duke Ellington and Count Basie, to Buddy Rich, Maynard Ferguson, Charles Mingus, Brian Setzer, and Ray Charles.

"Nacho Average Jazz Orchestra" (NAJO), with its diverse membership -- professional musicians, band directors, college players, and others with a background in and love for big band Jazz -- believes it has found just the right ingredients, layering professionalism, community and spice into a great product.
