Blackie and The Bullets formed in 1994. All of the
current members played together in the late 60's and early
70's in a group known as "The Sound Investment". The
group was one of the top bands in the Houston area at that
time. Recording for Laurie Records out of New York, the
group had two number one hits, including "Don't Stop The
Carnival", and "Come Back Baby". written by reknowned artist
Mickey Newbury ("Green, Green Grass of Home").
They opened for Janis Joplin at the
Music Hall in Houston and for the Beach Boys at the Sam
Houston Coliseum. That concert also included Buffalo
Springfield and The Strawberry Alarm Clock. They also
opened for The Who in San Antonio at the Municipal
Auditorium, Gary Puckett and the Union Gap, The Grass
Roots, and The McCoys.
A few years ago, the band reformed for their high school
reunion. They had such a blast, they decided to get back to
doing what they do best, making good music and, above
all, having fun doing it. And in November 2002, George
Hall, our long lost keyboardist, rejoined the group.
